The History

oF Jerry's

1945- Grandpa Ollie was a bread truck driver in good old GC. He knew of a tavern owner who wanted to retire and struck a deal. A personal loan from another local business man and a legacy was born.

Jerry's has been a staple in the Granite City community for years. They offer a cafeteria style dining experience with a menu that changes daily. Home style meals with the likes of fried chicken, breaded pork chops, salad bar with an offering of their house dressing, twice baked potatoes,various vegetables and multiple dessert choices. Typical meal cost 10-13 dollars.

Walking into this place is like stepping back in time, perhaps in Atlanta or Alabama. Fried chicken, twice baked potatoes and green beans excellent. Banana Cream pie, I splurged and ate it all. Definitely not fancy but excellent food, you'll be thinking about days later wanting to return.

Drove 45 minutes to see if the food was as good as everyone says it is. Yep they were right. Pork loin was cooked fork tender and the fried chicken rocks. I will be calling them to cater our daughters wedding.
